On 14 January 2004 the Managers published on the Association’s web site details of the fines that could be levied by the Turkish Port Authorities for vessels polluting waters in Turkish ports.
The Association’s Turkish Correspondents have informed the Managers that following an interim decision of the Court of Administrative Appeal the Ministry of the Environment has issued a declaration which has led to the level of fines being reduced.
The new tariff levels, which came into effect on 1 January 2005, are as follows:
