Search Tips
The search tool allows you to search on single words, phrases, numbers or even whole sentences. By default the search tool will search for all the words or numbers entered into the search field and return any document that contains one of these words or numbers.
In order to improve your success you can utilise the following techniques:
- Enter phrases in quotations e.g. “the period of insurance” as this will cause the search to look for that particular combination of words in a page
- If you are looking for results within a particular section of the website, utilise the “This section only” tick box located under the search field
- Use AND, NOT to improve search accuracy:
- To search for a document containing both the words ‘insurance’ & ‘vessel’ but not necessarily together then enter ‘insurance AND vessel’ into the search field.
- To search for a document containing the word ‘insurance’ but not ‘vessel’ enter ‘insurance NOT vessel’ into the search field
Due to the volume of site content the number of search responses is limited to increase efficiency, however you may experience a short delay in receiving your results. If so, please do not press the search button again as this will restart the search process.
