The 4th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin, held under the auspices of the Polish Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, provides a forum for presentations and discussions affecting the whole maritime industry and issues affecting the Polish market in particular. A diverse list of speakers and participants across all relevant fields took part in five separate seminars over a number of days, addressing the following areas: I. Shipyards, Shipping and Ports, II. Security and International Cooperation, III. Fisheries and Aquaculture, IV. Law, Finance and Ecology and V. Offshore Energy and Deep Sea Mining.
Philip Burns, Team Leader of Claims Team 1, at the invitation of our Members Euroafrica, spoke on Piracy, Kidnapping and P&I Cover whilst participating in a Q&A panel on Shipping Security and Protection as part of the session on Security and International Cooperation, such was the popularity of the Q&A panel that it was standing room only. Capt. Simon Rapley, Loss Prevention Manager, at the invitation of our Members WARTA, presented a well-received paper on Preventative Measures to Mitigate against Dry Cargo Claims as part of the session on Law, Finance and Ecology.
