West of England member EuroAfrica Shipping Lines manages a fleet of multipurpose vessels which trade within the Baltic region and on services to the UK and West Africa. The company also operates passenger, rail and freight ferries between Poland and Sweden.
In partnership with WARTA Insurance (which covers almost 90% of the Polish marine market), the West of England held a P&I seminar at EuroAfrica’s head office in Szczecin on 30 May 2012. International law firm Holman Fenwick Willan LLP also took part. The seminar was attended by approximately 30 people including senior management, seagoing officers and a number of guests.
The seminar commenced with opening addresses from Mr Jacek Wiśniewski (Managing Director, EuroAfrica) and Mr Marek Łepik (Director, WARTA Marine Underwriting Bureau). This was followed by a series of presentations throughout the day given by Mark Williams (Loss Prevention Director, West of England), Andrew Maxwell (Senior Underwriter, West of England) and Kaare Langeland (Senior Manager, Holman Fenwick Willan LLP). It proved to be a successful event and the talks prompted many questions, to the extent that another seminar may be held at a later date!
The seminar was followed by a splendid dinner hosted by WARTA Insurance.
