USA - Ballast Water Discharge Rule - Frequently Asked Questions Volume I - Updated

In May 2012 Members were advised that the United States Ballast Water Discharge Rule would enter into force on 21 June 2012. In August 2012 the United States Coast Guard (USCG) published a set of answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) (Volume I) in relation to the new legislation. In December 2012 the USCG published a further set of Frequently Asked Questions (Volume II) addressing Alternate Management Systems (AMS) and type approval of Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS). The USCG has now updated its Frequently Asked Questions (Volume I) with a number of updates to existing questions and the addition of new questions.
