New Claims Guide – US Longshoremen

When trading to the United States Members should be aware of the potential liabilities which can arise should a US longshoreman working on their vessel be injured. The latest in the Club’s popular series of Claims Guides provides guidance on the US Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the responsibilities the shipowner has towards longshoremen and stevedores coming on board - the so-called “Scindia Duties”.
