US Vessel Response Plans - California Shoreline Protection

In Notice to Members No.16 2015/2016, we advised that MSRC would no longer be providing California Shoreline Protection (“CASP”) services in the Santa Barbara Channel and at Port Hueneme but that two other OSROs - So Cal Ship Services (SCSS) and NRC - would be doing so.

In October 2016 SCSS announced their withdrawal from CASP services and all existing contracts were transferred to NRC.

The Managers are grateful to ECM Maritime Services for advising that MSRC have now re-entered the CASP market to a limited extent. As per their recent Client Alert (available here MSRC to Provide CASP for SB Transits of the Santa Barbara Channel ), MSRC will now provide CASP services for southbound transits of the Santa Barbara Channel only. Members trading to Port Hueneme will still require coverage from NRC.
