Sanctions in Respect of Libya

As result of the regime change in most of Libya, the European Union has removed a number of entities from its sanctions list. These include the ports of Tripoli, Al Khoms, Brega, Ras Lanuf, Zawia and Zuwara together with a number of banks and oil companies. Details of the entities removed from the list can be found on HM Treasury’s UK website.

European Union sanctions remain in place in respect of certain individuals and entities in Libya and that list can be found in the Consolidated List of all such individuals and entities on HM UK Treasury’s website.

Members who are subject to the relevant European Union regulations therefore need to continue to satisfy themselves that they are not carrying on business with individuals or entities which are on the Consolidated List or owned or controlled by individuals or entities on that list.
