June 2012

Translations: Chinese Chinese Vietnamese Vietnamese

Dear Sirs,

New Series of Loss Prevention Placards – Radar Best Practice

In order to remind deck officers of the points that should be borne in mind when using radar and ARPA, a new series of loss prevention placards entitled “Radar Best Practice” has been produced by the Club in association with leading manufacturer Sperry Marine Northrop Grumman.

The first two placards cover the following topics:

  • Setting up a Radar – The steps that should be followed when switching on and setting up a radar.

  • Setting up an ARPA – The steps that should be followed when switching on and setting up an ARPA.

The placards are A3 in size and encapsulated in plastic for durability, making them ideal for displaying on the bridge.

Members will be sent complimentary sets of both placards. Additional hard copies may be obtained by contacting the Loss Prevention department or downloaded as PDF files from the Club’s website

Further placards will be added to the series in due course.

Yours faithfully
