Ukraine conflict – ports' operational status

The Club’s local correspondent Dias (Ukraine) and AXIS (Russia) have advised the current operational status of Black Sea and Sea of Azov ports as follows;

Black Sea Ports - Ukraine

All Black Sea ports including Odessa, Chernomorsk, Pivdenny (Yuzhny), Nikolaev, Dneprobugsky are closed.

Black Sea Ports – Russia

All Russian ports based in the Black Sea continue to operate as normal. However, navigation in the north-west Black Sea to north or parallel 45-21 is prohibited as of 0400 UTC on 24.02.2022.

Black Sea Transit

Reports have been received regarding the presence of mines in the vicinity of Ukrainian Ports. In particular, Odessa, Ochakov. Chernomorsk and Yuzhny. Reports include warnings of mines drifting south and west due to the mines breaking anchors causing a potential hazard to safe navigation.

Azov Sea Ports- Ukraine

Ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol are closed.

Azov Sea Ports – Russia

From 0400 UTC on 24.02.2022 navigation in the Sea of Azov has been suspended.

Kerch Strait

The Kerch Strait is closed for passage north towards the Sea of Azov. Southern transit however is permitted.

Vessels in the Sea of Azov and Black Sea should contact their protective agents for up to date information before departure from / to any affected areas.
