Loss Prevention - MARS Reports

The Club is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Nautical Institute’s Mariners’ Alerting and Reporting Scheme (MARS).

The scheme is a confidential arrangement whereby maritime personnel can submit reports concerning dangerous occurrences, near misses and accidents anonymously to the Nautical Institute for publication in the monthly MARS Reports.

MARS reports are intended as a loss prevention tool whereby personnel involved in marine activities can learn lessons from previous incidents and hopefully avoid the occurrence of similar events in the future.

Monthly MARS reports will be added to the MARS Reports section of the website once published, however, the MARS database can also be searched on the Nautical Institute Website when all of the MARS reports related to a specific word or phrase, or a particular report are to be reviewed.
