Philippines: Ban on deployment of Filipino Crew aboard Vessels engaged in trades in Nigerian Waters.

Further to our News Article of 11 February 2008, the POEA have issued a further Advisory which states that the ban will no longer apply to Filipino crewmembers onboard vessels engaged in a liner services to Nigerian ports but will now only apply to Filipino crewmembers onboard vessels engaged in cabotage trades in Nigerian waters.

The Managers will continue to keep Members updated with developments, but in the meantime Members with vessels engaged in cabotage trades in Nigerian waters crewed by Filipino nationals are requested to contact the Managers for further advice.
