Cuba - Sanctions – Further Amendment of US Regulations
Further to our News Item of 26 January 2015, the U.S. Office of Foreign Asset Control has issued further amendments to the U.S. Cuban Asset Control Regulations. A copy of a Client Alert from the Club's US attorneys Freehill Hogan & Mahar can be found here and the latest FAQs from OFAC here.
Once again these amendments do not affect the U.S. trade embargo against Cuba and it remains the case that vessels may not call at a U.S. port within 180 days of having called at a Cuban port.
Members should contact the Managers with any questions concerning the impact of these and any other sanctions. General guidance on sanctions can also be found on the Club's dedicated webpage.
