Iran Sanctions - Further Extension of the JPOA

The EU has announced a short extension of the Joint Plan of Action (JPOA) previously agreed between the E3/EU+3 powers and Iran until 28 January 2016. This short extension is presumably granted in the expectation that Implementation Day under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached in July 2015 and following which all nuclear-related EU sanctions and US secondary sanctions against Iran will be lifted, will occur on or before 28 January 2016.
